How India can benefit from Durand line "Pak Afghan border" a friction point || DG ISI Serena Hotel

Durand Line has been a bone of contention between Pakistan and Afghanistan for decades. “The new Afghan government will announce its position on this issue [the fence along the Durand line]. The fencing has separated people and divided families. We want to create a secure and peaceful environment on the border so there is no need to create barriers.”
The Durand Line is the 2,670-kilometre international land border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was the demarcation drawn by British administrator Sir Henry Mortimer Durand in 1893, through a pact with Abdur Rahman, the then Amir of Afghanistan.
The both times that Afghanistan has been occupied recently by foreign powers, India has found itself on the wrong side, on the side of the losers. India overtly, if not tacitly, supported the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. When the Soviets retreated and their empire started crumbling, India still supported them to the bitter end.
Now the Americans are shaken to the core because of Afghanistan. Pakistan, China, Russia and Iran are all taking the side of the new Afghan govt, but India is sticking to its newfound friend, the US. The funny thing is that the US is trying to make nice with the new Afghan govt.
