The EU Commission are preparing to publish a comprehensive set of proposals designed to smooth over some of the low risk trade issues between Britain and Northern Ireland. If Boros Johnson is serious about getting brexit done, he would welcome them, even if he thought more could be done. But as the government prepares to turn the proposals down out of hand, it seems increasingly likely that the UK government actually want a trade war with the EU.
