Hello everyone, my dear friends! Today I wanted to share the swami and test one of the directions of music that I liked. And we are talking about alternative rock music. A collective term for music, the content of which varies considerably in terms of sound, social context and regional characteristics. By the late 1980s, magazines, samizdat, and student and word of mouth radio had significantly expanded the popularity of the genre among the mainstream audience, highlighting the diversity of alternative rock, the wide range of its music scenes and styles, such as gothic rock, jungle pop, noise rock, indie rock, indie pop, grunge, industrial, alternative hip hop and rap rock. Most of these subgenres were only popular for a short time, but several alternative bands such as Hüsker Dü and R.E.M. subsequently signed major labels. However, the commercial success of most of this subculture was incomparably lower than that of other rock and pop musicians of the time. Most of the bands remained unknown to the mass audience and released their records on indie labels, without receiving much rotation on popular radio stations, television or in newspapers. It was only after the breakthrough of Nirvana and the rapid popularization of grunge and Britpop in the 1990s that alternative rock became part of the mainstream of music, and many alternative bands achieved success with a mass audience.
