Breaking 49ers news as the 49ers have signed free agent cornerback, Dre Kirkpatrick in NFL Free Agency. The 49ers went looking for cornerbacks after their best cornerback, Jason Verrett suffered a torn ACL during 49ers vs. Lions NFL week 1. Ian Rapoport reports that Kirkpatrick, who was drafted in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft and spent 2012-2019 with the Cincinnati Bengals recently worked out for the 49ers and impressed.

Even though the 49ers have signed Dre Kirkpatrick, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports that the 49ers still have interest in NFL Free Agent Richard Sherman, who played for the 49ers from 2018-2020 and made it to a Pro Bowl in 2019. As of now, the 49ers have not signed Richard Sherman, but that does remain a possibility for Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch, DeMeco Ryans and company.
