Learn how to bind off your stitches. This in the end of your knitting project. Knit the first 2 stitches in your row and place your left hand needle in the first stitch on your right hand needle and bring it up and over the second stitch and then off the needle. You will continue this step until you have slipped off every stitch in the row.
