Some might think that's not appropriate.
After all, we're on opposing sides.
We are enemies.

We think the doctor was careless.
The attorney who represents the doctor thinks his client did nothing wrong.
Is there ever an instance where it's Ok to disclose to the opposing lawyer what our case is really about and specifically, what our expert had to say about the care and treatment you received?

The answer is yes, it is appropriate.
You might wonder why.
Why would I disclose that private information to my opponent?

I'll tell you why...
Because I want him to know.
I need him to know.

I want him to understand the details of the claims we are making in your case.
I want him to immediately recognize that we have spent the time, effort and money to hire a medical expert who confirms that your doctor violated the basic standards of good medical care.

I want him to realize that our expert concluded that because of your doctors' carelessness, you suffered significant harm and injury. By telling him immediately, at the beginning of your case, he doesn't have to wait for all your medical records to understand that. By telling him immediately, he doesn't need to wait for our detailed explanation that we are required to provide called a bill of particulars.

By telling him shortly after starting your lawsuit, he can report back to the insurance company exactly what your case is about and why we believe we have a strong case.
