Stewards of His Power and His Glory
1. What it Means to be a Good and Faithful Steward
1 Chron 29:11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is yours
1 Pet 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful
Stewards - A household manager, a guardian, he owns everything I own nothing (here lies the basis of our stewardship)
Jn 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease
Lk 16:2 So he called him in and asked him, 'What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your management (stewardship), because you cannot be manager (steward) any longer.
Matt 25:23 His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'
2. Steward Well the Power of God and His Vision
Ps 62:11 Power belongs to you, God
God never gives an assignment without the power to back it up
Acts 10:38 You know about Jesus of Nazareth and how God poured out on him the Holy Spirit and power. He went everywhere, doing good and healing all who were under the power of the Devil, for God was with him
Lk 4:18 (GWT) The Spirit of the Lord is with me. He has anointed me to tell the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin and the restoring of sight to the blind, to forgive those who have been shattered by sin
God’s vision is to let people go, and His power has freed us
Acts 1:8 When the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be filled with power and you will be witnesses (We are to take His power and set people free)
We’re only going to ask one thing, help others the way we helped you
Matt 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give
3. Steward the Glory of God Well – Never Forget it all Belongs to Him
Matt 9:8 (amp) When the crowds saw they were awestruck, and glorified God and praised Him, who had given such authority and power to men
2 Cor 4:7 We have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us
Jer 9:23-24 “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; 24 But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord
Jud 7:2 The LORD said to Gideon, “The people who are with you are too many for Me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel claim glory for itself against Me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me”
Matt 6:13 Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever Amen
