Phoenix, Sunford & surrounding areas rally to send a message to the People, the Province, the Country & to the World ! [17th July 2021]
People from the community gathered around Chartford grounds in Phoenix on Saturday afternoon to show their solidarity and the togetherness of living with people of all race and cultures. This movement showed togetherness by the individuals within the community with a clear message which said... We are not racist, we will stand together to protect our families and we want the government to now show us the protection that we deserve. That is all !
This message was echoed by a African gentlemen from the community in English and in Zulu stating that he has been living along Indians for 27 years and even thought there was a bit of nonsense, This whole situation was blown out of proportion by people higher up with hidden agendas. He says this is not about racism here right now and we need to understand that this is driven with other agendas. We must be smart about what is happening around us & Social media is also causing alot of this to happen.
These comments were welcomed by the public which applauded and lauded him as a true gentlemen in the spirit of coming together.
The community wants to take a stand with a movement called 'The Light of Peace' tomorrow which is Sunday the 18th of July 2021 between 7pm to 8pm with lighting of a Candle and/or using the light/torch from your phones to show our request for peace in our community. Everyone was asked to join in on this movement.
